NOTICE OF NOMINATIONS AND ELECTION

October 22, 2026

Brothers and Sisters –

It is time for AFGE Local 446 to conduct nominations and elections for the following offices –

• President, Executive Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer
• Vice President of Nursing, Chief Steward of Nursing
• Vice President of Non-Professionals, Chief Steward of Non-Professionals
• Vice President of Professionals, Chief Steward of Professionals
• Vice President of MACPAC, Chief Steward of MACPAC
• Vice President of Job Corps, Chief Steward of Job Corps
• Vice President of NOAA, Chief Steward of NOAA
• Vice President of Blue Ridge Parkway/NPS, Chief Steward of Blue Ridge Parkway/NPS

NOMINATIONS

All nomination forms must be received at PO Box 19546, Asheville, NC 28815 by 5:00 pm on November 13, 2026. The term of office will be 3 years in accordance with the AFGE Constitution.

Qualifications for office are as follows –
• Be a member in good standing of this local;
• Be a member for one year of an AFGE local, immediately preceding the closing of the nomination process;
• Not be a member in any labor organization not affiliated with the AFL-CIO; and
• Candidates shall not run for more than one office in the same local election.

Qualifications to nominate is to be a member in good standing of this Local. Any member who submits an Application for Membership (SF-1187) after the nomination forms are mailed must contact Election Chair Crystal Towe for a nomination form.

A second for a nomination is not required. Self-nominations are permissible. Nominees (including self-nominations) will be notified of their nomination on November 14, 2026 and must accept/decline nomination in writing to the Election Chair at avelynizabella@gmail.com by 5:00 pm on November 18, 2026.

ELECTION

The election of Local 0446 officers up for nomination will be conducted in accordance with the Local 446 Bylaws, Appendix A of the AFGE National Constitution, and the AFGE Election Manual. Ballots will be mailed on November 20, 2026 and must be returned to PO Box 19546, Asheville, NC 28815 by 5:00 pm on December 11, 2026. The election tally of the ballots will immediately follow the pick-up of the ballots from the post office, and installation will occur at the December 15, 2026 membership meeting

Any member who has signed a dues withholding form (SF-1187) that is accepted by a responsible officer of the Local prior to the mailing of the ballots will receive a ballot and be eligible to vote. Any member submitting an SF-1187 after ballots are mailed will be required to request a duplicate ballot from Election Chair Crystal Towe, avelynizabella@gmail.com.

All members in good standing will be eligible to vote for all positions in this election.
